Wales Supporters Team travelled to the home of FK Brodarac on the edge of the Sava River in Belgrade, to face their Serbian counterparts, with 23 players turning out in the searing heat to give Wales a stunning 4-3 win in an end to end encounter. Wales took the lead as a superb cross from Evan Williams flustered the Serbian defence and, with maybe a hint of a deflection, went straight into the net. However Wales then decided to play a touch too much football in the back four with Michael Charlish guilty of two schoolboy errors to give the Serbians a half time lead. However Wyn Lewis got Wales back in the tie, before goals from Jordan Ratcliffe (pen) and Jac Hardman, gave Wales a hard fought victory, despite Ryan March scoring a spectacular own goal to gave Wales a few nervy moments in the closing stages.
Caleb Young and Thomas Bowen had excellent games giving Wales a cutting edge going forward, while Wales had a strong second half with Gareth Godwin, Josh Howells, Luke Howells and Adam Howells strengthening the side, which was well marshalled again by Dave O'Gorman. Andrew Knapp and Rhisiart Jarman-Harris shored up the Welsh defence, while Ryan Davies and Dafydd Roberts provided Wales with some fresh options.
A special mention to Wayne 'Dibs' Anderson who made his Wales debut aged only 49, Jamie Matthews was man of the match with a tireless performance over the 90 minutes, while Laurence Mora defied all odds by helping Wales out in goal, his first ever performance between the posts.
Manager Neil Dymock said after the game, "Thanks to Rhys Hartley for organising the game with Serbian fans, it was a hard fought win in testing conditions, as the searing heat was tough on the boys. The depth in numbers helped today and it's great to see so many players want to turn out for Wales over here in Belgrade."
