Wales face Finland supporters twenty-two years after their first ever meeting in Helsinki in 2002. Looking to avenge the 7-2 defeat Wales started brightly, but it was soon to become one of those days as chance after chance went begging, notably by captain Tommy Bowen and his strike partner, Macauley Davies.
It was against the run of play though that Finland took the lead, Tim Hartley caught attacking once too often and the Finnish cutting in from the left to lay it on a plate for the centre forward. It remained 0-1 at the interval. With several fresh legs on for the second half, Wales had a dreat start when Jac griffiths scored with a 25-yard free kick into the top corner. Hugh Williams then almost added a second but volleyed wide.
With Wales pressing hard for the lead, Finland roared on by over 300 fans again took the lead against the run of play. Wales continued to push but it look like it wasn't to be when Griffiths had another free kick saved by the keeper, and Ed King was thwarted by another excellent Finnish save. However deep into injury time it was Joe Davies who saved the day for Wales, scrambling the ball home from a corner.
Final score: Wales Supporters 2 - 2 Finland Supporters
