Wales Supporters went on the rampage in Luxembourg City on 26th March 2008, when they hit 10 goals past a hapless Luxembourg Supporters team, managed by Oliver Pozzaacchio, leader of the famous M-Block Fanatics 95.
The game started well for Wales despite having just 11 players at kick off time, due to an accident on the M50 from Brussels to Luxembourg. The game was played on the Astroturf pitch at the Stade de Beggen and heavyweight striker Neil Lewis was the star for Wales in the first half, striking home two great goals.
With two goalkeepers in the Welsh first eleven, Luke James was picked to play up front as he was the fitter of the two and was enthuastic about playing in an alien role at centre forward after letting in 44 goals in the previous games he had played for Wales in goal. However all good things come to those who wait and Luke was rewarded with a 25 yard screamer in the second half.
Rhys Lewis excelled in midfield for Wales, picking up any pieces left by fellow Aber duo, Owen Williams and Will Johnson. While Scott Probert, who once kept a certain Chris Gunter out of their local side, had an excellent debut on the left hand side of midfield.
Late coming substitute had one of his best games for Wales, bombing forward on several occasions, to support the wing-play of Scott Probert. While Tim's aerial ability in the box, saved Wales on a number of occasions as Luxembourg lay caution to the wind in a vane attempt to get their all important second goal after Wales keeper Wayne Edwards had conceded one of two shots he had to save all the game, the other one was a backpass.
Right back Anthony Noonan, had an excellent game winning his second cap, while one of Neil Lewis goals was pure quality, right in the top corner. Will Johnson was superb in midfield in his comeback game after work commitments, while Huw Roffe and Gareth Edwards never put a foot wrong in defence. 15 year old Rhys Hartley also made his official Wales debut as a substitute for Neil Lewis.
The goalscorers for Wales were Neil Lewis (2), Will Johnson (2), Owen Williams (2), Rhys Lewis, Huw Roffe, Luke James and an own goal. A good day at the office so to speak for Manager Neil Dymock.
